One calls: 'Prepare the way for God in the wilderness, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley will be lifted up, and every mountain and hill made low; the crooked will become level, and the rough places a plain.' One says: 'What shall I shout?' 'Shout that mankind is grass.'
Isaiah 40:1-26
va’etchanan “I pleaded with Hashem” Deuteronomy 3:23 – 7:11
Moses receives the second “luchot” – the sapphire tablets of the ten commandments. In this parsha are repeated these sayings and the instruction to love Hashem with all your heart and all your soul. Here the “luchot” emerge from deeper space with the Kabbalistic imagery. On the tablets are the letter “aleph” – the first silent letter of the Hebrew alphabet and the “lamed” which begins the word “no” that prefaces the negative commandments. Around the tablets are the ten Sefirot – the energy centers of Kabbalistic cosmology. These same energy centers are radiating through Moses.
