Your country is desolate; your cities burned with fire. When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you. Yes, even though you multiply your prayers, I will not hear; your hands are full of blood. But if you refuse and rebel, you will be devoured with the sword, for God's mouth has spoken. How the faithful city has become a prostitute! She was full of justice, righteousness lodged in her, but now murderers.
Isaiah 1:1-27
devarim “the words” Deuteronomy 1 – 3:22
The Hebrews having crossed the river Yardein, defeated the enemies that attacked them including the giant Sichon, King of the Emorites and the giant Og, King of Bashon. In that battle the enemy had attacked late in the day knowing that Shabbos was about to start and that the Hebrews would not continue fighting on the holy day, but Moses seeing that Joshua and his troops needed more time for victory, made the sun stand still. Og tried to use a giant stone to hurl at the Hebrews but Hashem turned it into a yoke that fell around his neck.
